The 4 Weekend Getaways We are Looking Forward to Visiting This Summer

If you have been following us these past few months, you probably noticed that our trips have been few and far between due to jobs changes, dog sitting jobs, and wanting to become a little financially stable. However, with the middle of the year quickly approaching we are excited to start picking up our weekend getaways once more.

The locations below are a few of our known upcoming destinations. We can’t wait to share these experiences with all of you!

Stowe, VT

Having visited this amazing town during winter a couple years ago, we have been dying to go back. We were lucky enough to experience Stowe’s hospitality in winter and participate in cold weather activities while we were there last. One of our planned trips this summer is to hear back to the Green Mountain State to, well, see this state when it is actually green instead of covered in white fluffy snow.

From hiking, kayaking, horseback riding, sailing, and maybe even camping, this state has a host of options for those looking for some rest and relaxation in nature.

Nashville, TN (Sarah Only)

Phil and I won’t be traveling to this hotspot together this year. But I will be traveling with my sister to birthplace of country music. Live music, shopping excursions, and of course foodie options are just a few things on the to-do list. Oh and possibly a couple museums and distillery tours.

Sadly, I will have to work the last couple of days in town, but I am looking forward to sharing all of my non-professional experiences with you all after I get back.

Chicago, IL

The product of Sarah’s obsession with Beyonce, we will be visiting the windy city in late summer. In addition to experience one of the other great sport cities in the nation, the city offers amazing views of the city, amazing food options, and some of the most unique and spectacular examples of architecture in the nation.

We are beyond excited to have an urban vacation full of sights, sounds, and stimulation of a new concrete jungle.

Acadia National Park, ME

Home to some of the most amazing sites in the Northeast, we are due for a trip back when half the parks aren’t closed and the rest aren’t covered in snow. We can’t wait to head back to eat, drink, hike, swim, kayak, and sight see our way through this National Park once more.
